This piece started from an awkward photo of Larry Bird passing the basketball behind his head. I loved how abstract the photograph was, if you didn’t know basketball, it would look like just a weird photo which I really liked. After I started drawing it, I wanted it to be more abstract and goofy, the way I did that was by making the first player with the gladiator jersey look really crazy like he’s drunk, which he kinda does look kind of drunk dancing which I think is hysterical. Still after that I wasn’t satisfied with it visually so I added the two pink hands as extra people extra confusion. Extra chaos. Extra extra. Read all about it.
